Talking about skin cancer, medically there are three types of skin cancer based on where the cancer cell is infecting. Firstly, there is basal cell cancer which can be found in lowest layer of your epidermis. Among all types of cancer, this cancer is the most common cancer which infect human but this cancer will not give you fatal effect. Commonly, if you are infected by this cancer, you will have smooth bumped skins around sun exposed skin, such as head, shoulders and neck. In any condition, you can see blood vessels in the tumor. In the infected area, the skin may be bleeding and crusting. Sometimes, people do not recognize this as dangerous tumor, so they will not heal it, even though you can eliminate this tumor completely when you can have good treatment.
Secondly, there is squamous cell cancer which can be found in middle layer of your skins. This cancer is more dangerous than the basal cancer, but this is still less common. This cancer can be diagnosed when you find that your skin is getting red and thickening, especially in your sun exposed skin. Besides, there will be bleeding and ulceration and if you cannot get good treatment soon, it can bring fatal effect. Third type is melanoma which becomes the most dangerous cancer. There are a lot of symptoms can be found and this cancer must be treated soon before the tumor becomes larger and cannot be healed.
Knowing the types is not enough if you want to know all about skin cancer because you also must know the causes of this cancer. Commonly those types of cancer are caused by over exposed of ultraviolet rays from sunlight. Besides, the cancer also can be caused by UV ray from tanning beds. In other case, the cancer also can be inherited. Toxic from smoking tobacco can cause the cancer also. So, knowing all about skin cancer is important in order that you can prevent the disease.
